Sofia university of chemical technology and metallurgy is a leading research center located in the heart of Eastern Europe. The university was first a faculty of the greater Sofia polytechnic university, however in 1954, the polytechnic university was divided to 4 smaller, more specialized universities, one of which was the university of chemical technology and metallurgy.
